I design engaging and meaningful learning experiences
About Me. A South Carolina native. U.S. Army Veteran. My educational background is in psychology. I received my BS in Psychology from Coastal Carolina University, my Master in IO Psychology from Walden University, and a second Master in Instructional Systems Design and Performance Improvement from The Citadel. My professional background includes program management and Human Resources with a specialization in employee relations, labor relations, and performance improvement.
My design process: analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This portfolio will show you my design process. My systematic approach to creating learning experiences.
Analyze: Problem identification and identifying the target audience, action mapping, identifying learning goals, and training needs analysis.
Design: Design learning objectives and goals. Focus on instructional and testing strategies.
Development: Determine instructional strategies, media, and methods. Develop learning resources by integrating content and strategies with supporting media.
Implementation: Implement the learning solution by preparing the learning space and engaging the learners.
Evaluation: Implementing formative and summative evaluation strategies to evaluate the quality of the learning materials on how well they accomplish instructional goals.
Instructional design models that may be implemented in the design process include Bloom's Taxonomy, Kemp's Design Model, and the 5E Instructional Models.
Collaborations. I like to take a collaborative approach to instructional design. My collaborative approach involves joint planning, sharing expertise, and integrating diverse perspectives to develop effective instructional materials. This approach enhances creativity and ensures the learning activity meets various learner needs. The benefits of using a collaborative approach to instructional design are that it strengthens the quality of the instructional materials and promotes a vibrant learning community. It also leads to richer curriculum development and optimizes learner engagement and satisfaction.
What can we accomplish? Together, we can accomplish enhanced learning outcomes, increased learner engagement, cost-effective training, data-driven decision-making, personalized learning materials, expertise in learning methodologies, and collaboration between subject matter experts and designers.
